Many of our children come with just the clothes on their backs. We will use these funds to ensure the children are properly clothed. And with the rising cost of food we definitely need these funds because we provide 3 meals and 3 snacks a day and our lowest number is always around 8 children and our highest is 12.

Our Mission

It is Faith Haven’s mission to provide a safe, temporary emergency home in a sheltered environment for neglected, abandoned and abused children from ages birth through 18 of both sexes. Faith Haven provides a complete 24-hour around-the-clock care in a home-like setting with house parents and direct care staff. Our staff offers the necessary support to nurture and minister to the physical and emotional needs of these children. It is also our mission to make a time of crisis in their lives as easy as it can be under difficult circumstances and to make their next placement more successful.

The History of Faith Haven

Faith Haven is a 45-day emergency shelter home for abused, abandoned & neglected children. Since May 1977, Faith Haven has provided complete care in a home setting for children who need to be temporarily placed in a time of crisis. In the beginning, Faith Haven could house up to 8 children. In early 2000, it became our goal to build a new facility to enable us to house teenagers of the same sex and have more bed space available. In December of 2003, we were able to accomplish those goals and moved into a 5,000 square foot facility with 8 bedrooms.  In 2017, a recreational building was added to offer more indoor recreational activities and office space.

YOU CAN DONATE MORE THAN TIME.

If you don’t have any available time to volunteer, that’s ok. You can make a donation. We accept online money donations, mailed checks, and select items for donations. Click the button below to learn more.

How We Measure Success

  • At Faith Haven, success is something that is seen every day. Faith Haven is an Emergency Shelter that provides safety and care to children from birth to the age of 18 who are in custody of child protective services.

  • Our biggest success is the children not wanting to leave Faith Haven. We often receive phone calls from former residents who want to keep in touch and let us know how they are doing. That is what makes our staff work harder!

  • It is always good to hear from our former residents and know that we have made an impact in their lives, but we see success every day in each child that comes through our doors; whether it is only for 1 day, 45 days or 3 months. When we see a child learning to ride a bike, bringing home a good report card, sleeping in their own bed through the night or even taking their very first steps, these are the things that we view as success and warms our hearts.
